Hulled hemp seeds have a lower fiber content than unhulled hemp, but a much higher protein content. They have a mild nutty taste, and due to the removed outer shell, the possibilities for their use are very high.
They make a great sprinkle on fruit salads, cakes and hot breakfast cereals. They can be added to fresh desserts, bread, pastries and cookies. They are also extremely good with yoghurt. With the addition of honey and cocoa, we can make an excellent sweet spread from them, but if we add oil, herbs and salt, we get an excellent pesto, useful as a topping for pasta.
The beneficial effects of hemp seeds are similar to those of hemp oil and sludge.
